I just needed to post a big thank you to one of my dear friends, I will call her “Supermom”. She was the only person that offered any real tangible advice. Sorry, to my other dear friends, but I really needed relief in this subject. Please click on my ”Taming the Laundry Monster” article, scroll down to the comments, & you too will see how helpful she is. Maybe this would be of help to any of you that also struggle to keep your laundry room organized. I shall be looking forward to further comments from this particular friend.
Taming the Laundry Monster-Give Your Tips
11 07 2008Right now I am working on tying up loose ends around the house as we get ready to take a trip to the beach! Well, actually I am on the computer right now. I am such a procrastinator these days!
As I sit here typing & procrastinating I am avoiding a monster the lives in my basement. It is large, smelly, & scary. It size various on how often I battle it. If I wait too long to battle it, it’s proportions are quite overwhelming. It makes me want to give in & surrender, let it devour me!
The monster I am speaking of is my family laundry. I decided to approach other warriors who also fight this battle on a daily basis & ask for their strategies. Are you one of those warriors? If so, I want to know all your tips & tools for keeping up with, organizing, & maintaining fresh clean laundry in your home. Please comment & let me know. Thanks so much!!!

Walk for Exercise
10 07 2008I have heard, a lot, that walking is a great form of exercise. For a matter of fact, given the situation with gas, I would love it if everyone would walk more. I say “everyone” because then I would feel more comfortable & safe walking down the side of 278 with my kids as we head to Hiram. Hee, hee. I don’t think my teen girls would be caught dead doing that unless there was a dire emergency. But, seriously, think how fit we all could be & how much gas we would save!
My family had a taste of this a couple of times recently as we have had fun with our vehicles. Read the rest of this entry »

Running Down the Path
7 07 2008For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5
The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:1-3
In my life, thus far, God has been showing me that He has a path He desires for me to run. It is a path unique & individual to me. Read the rest of this entry »

Why Wait?
27 06 2008A friend of mine & my Pastor’s wife, Kim, is leading a bible study in her home for the ladies of our church, No Other Gods. At our first gathering Kim’s 1st question of the night had to do with what prevents us from spending time with God. Wow! What a question. It wasn’t, “for those of you who may not spend time with God….” but an assumptive, “when you don’t spend time with God…”. It was awesome because there we all were, not pretending to be anything we weren’t laying out for each-other that, yes, we often go about our day having not connected with God in any way & here are the reasons why. It meant so much to me to hear that other ladies are in the same boat as I am!
Why do I allow days to go by without talking to my Lord? Read the rest of this entry »

Open Mouth, Insert Foot
23 06 2008OK, I am no longer the consistently calm & collected woman I was just a week ago. They’re back! What is it about our kids that can send us into these torrents of mood swings? Last week while the kids where gone I was watching “Jon & Kate Plus 8″. If you have never heard of this show, it is a reality show about a couple who has a set of twins as well as a set of sextuplets. During this particular episode Kate lost it completely (well, maybe that happens in each episode). I mean she was on a rampage. Even the t.v.crew was attempting to appease the situation. I quickly called her behavior to Craig’s attention & let him know how utterly silly I thought it was that she was throwing such a fit over a situation (which was sending her 8 little ones out of control too) that was in reality no big deal. Well I guess I have to pull my foot out of my mouth this morning through this blog. Read the rest of this entry »

Quiet & Calm
19 06 2008I have been childless this week! That’s right, out of the 3 there are 0 here right now, unless you count the 2 pet kids. This was no accident, it was strategically planned by my husband. It all started with my son’s first scheduled “family free” outing to Boyscout camp, at which time my husband decided it would work nicely for the girls to have some ”Nia” & “Papa” (the grandparents) bonding.

A Moment of Truth
6 06 2008Have any of you watched the t.v. show, “Moment of Truth”? It is a reality game show in which a contestant is asked a set of personal questions (they had already been asked previous to taping while hooked up to a lie detector test) which become more revealing & personal as dollar amounts increase. These questions may involve highly charged relational questions (asked while the family member in question looks on) to ethical questions which could actually jeopardize the contestants job. If a contestant answers a question differently then what the results of the lie detector test shows then they will immediately be eliminated from the game. Of course a contestant always has the option to walk away should the question be too difficult to answer.
My husband & I have watched bits & pieces of the show but have never developed a taste for it as it does seem a bit “freak” showish to us. And actually one can get all they need to make an assessment of the show from the commercials. Last night was no exception. Read the rest of this entry »

Acworth, good food, cute shops…
5 06 2008Once the school year comes to a close for the summer with our local public schools, the kids & I get rather antsy. My family (we are homeschoolers), like our public school counterparts, are anticipating & desiring some change! We get summer fever right along with everyone else but instead of looking forward to being at home & all that comes with it, we desire the total opposite. We want to get out & do something different. To us there is no novelty in being at home!
In the quest to get out & do something different we stumbled across a cute little town that many of you may already know about but we had never visited in the 7 years we have lived here! The town I am referring to is Acworth , GA. We had heard that they had a theatre, cute shops, & good food so we decided to check it out. Read the rest of this entry »
